Quality assurance
The TUA has an extensive system of quality assurance that we use to continuously monitor the quality of the education we provide.
Accreditation and assessment
All the TUA’s degree programs are assessed by a panel of independent experts every six years. Based on the assessment of these experts, the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders, the NVAO, issues a decision about the programmers’ accreditation. These decisions by the NVAO are an important source of information about the quality of education.
Institutional audits
Apart from the external assessments the TUA is also the subject of an institutional audit by the NVAO once in every six years. Instead of assessing individual programs, these audits assesses the internal quality assurance in place at the TUA. The latest audit took place at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, and this resulted in a positive assessment for the TUA. The TUA satisfies the criteria in all four areas of quality assurance: vision and policy, realization and execution, evaluation and monitoring, and improvement and development.
Feedback
The TUA also has its own, internal instruments to measure quality of education and student satisfaction: TUA Q, which collects students' feedback through teaching evaluations, the information management system TUA data, and the National Student Survey.
